Rustcage was built as a solo project for the PSX Story Jam #4. All code architectures and core game mechanics are entirely original.

This project utilizes external resources to achieve its retro aesthetic. Texture assets are provided by Texture Ninja. Atmospheric audio elements feature Creative Commons 0 (CC0) sound effects sourced from the Freesound.org developer community, alongside a royalty-free track from Pixabay. All third-party assets are property of their respective creators.

RustCage Story:

You are stationed on a bleak, underfunded mining colony on a newly discovered planet The facility is in a constant state of decay needing  basic repairs and supplies.

Your mission today was simple: descend to the absolute lowest levels of the mine shaft extract a highly valuable energy core and secure the funding needed to keep the station alive.

Then the main line snapped.

Trapped inside the maintenance lift, the backup generator kicked in but barely provides enough juice to keep the console screens alive. It will take exactly 4 minutes for the automated engineering staff to complete the structural shaft repairs.

Your oxygen is bleeding out. Your equipment is failing. But the lack of air is the least of your concerns down here...
